Fine Arts

 

Oil Painting/Drawing

(Ages 15-Adult)

Instructor: Diamond Vigil

You will learn the effective use of color relationships, mass, and values while you paint from a photograph.

Clay Hand Building 

(Ages 8-15)

Instructor: Sally Anne Finkelstein

In this class you will be introduced to the many techniques of hand building. Several fun items will be made.

Wheel Throwing

(Ages 16-Adult)

Instructor: Nancy O'Brien

Students will learn the basics of how to throw on the wheel.  They will be provided with 25 lbs. of clay and the use of all Firehouse glazes.

Open Pottery Studio

Students 18 and older with prior ceramics experience may sign-up for open studio use of the ceramics room.  The fee covers use of wheels, and glazes. Firing is only done by Firehouse personnel when kiln is full.

Liberal Arts

 

Conversational Spanish

(Ages 18-Adult)

Instructor: Sylvia Ramirez

Learn to communicate in Spanish through basic skills.  Students will focus mainly on learning to speak Spanish, although some writing will be taught.  No experience necessary.

Community Open Darkroom

(Ages 18-Adult)

Instructor: Dee Cerda

This is for students needing extra time to print and practice the photo techniques taught in the darkroom class, and for photographers wanting a place to print. Green chemicals and some equipment provided; bring your own paper.

Available during regular open hours only

Tuition: $10/scheduled use or $50 unlimited month

Piano Lessons

(Ages 7-Adult)

Instructor: Ashley Ramos

Piano lessons are for both the beginner piano student and those who want to review their skills. Learning to play the piano is great for all age. Students can choose to be in a recital May 5.

Computer Graphics

 

Adobe Photoshop

(Ages 16-Adult)

Instructor: Will del Castillo

Learn basic to advance Photoshop techniques including navigation, working with images, resizing & cropping, layering, painting, creating special effects, etc.  in this hands on computer class.

March 23 -June 15 | 6:00-7:00

Belly Dancing

Registration Information 
  • To register for a class, you can come by the Firehouse to fill out a registration form and pay for the class
  • Class spots cannot be held until payment is received

  • You must pre-register for all the classes

  • DRCA Members receive a 10% discount
  • Classes may cancel due to insufficient enrollment, students will be notified by phone
  • Full refund are given only if class is cancelled by the Firehouse
  • If a student wishes to cancel before the first class day a full refund less 30% will be given
  • No refunds after first class date
  •

      Scholarships based on economic need are available.
