NEXT SHOW UPCOMING IN JANUARY WORK DUE DECEMBER 8TH The Del Rio Council for the Arts is very excited to invite you to participate in pARTners for Sharing. This exhibition is open to all Del Rio youth between the ages of 5-18. It will be blind juried by an impartial jury of Del Rio Art League members. The purpose of this project is to seek out artwork created by young artists to be displayed at Val Verde Regional Medical Center, which will lift the spirits of patients and families. Eligibility requirements:
Entrants must be between the ages of 5-18. Only one work may be submitted per artist. Artwork must be original and completed in the last year. Artwork should be either 8 ½” x 11” or 11” x 14”. If work does not meet size requirements it will be automatically disqualified. Artwork may be in any media, but must be two-dimensional. Artwork should not be on canvas, hard board, matted or framed. Artwork that has won awards or has been exhibited previously is ineligible. Piece must be labeled with one entry form. All work must be received at the Firehouse by 5:00 pm, Monday, December 8, 2008.
Forty-five selected artworks will be retained by the Del Rio Council for the Arts and displayed at the Firehouse Gallery from January 2 through January 26, 2009 and then moved to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center where they will be exhibited for one full year. Selected artists will be notified by phone December 17th. If participant is not called by December 19th, then the work has not been selected. All works not chosen to be part of the pARTners for sharing exhibition must be picked up at the Firehouse Gallery starting January 1and no later than January 5th. If artwork is not retrieved by this date, it will become property of the Del Rio Council for the Arts. Entrants, by way of submission, agree to grant the Del Rio Council for the Arts unlimited usage of all or part of their artwork without compensation. When the yearlong exhibit is completed artists will be telephoned and artwork will be available for pickup at the Firehouse. As a gift for participation, each artist will keep the frame his or her piece was displayed in.

Monday, December 8- entry deadline Monday, December 15 through December 17- selected artist will be notified by telephone First Friday, January 2- opening reception at the Firehouse Gallery, 7-9 pm Wednesday, February 2- artwork relocated to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for one year/ all artwork not selected for the exhibit must be picked up by this date or it will become property of the Del Rio Council for the Arts
