Object
The object of the scholarship is to assist an outstanding student (in both art and core subjects) to go to a college or university of his or her choice. In choosing the winner, academic merit, student application, teacher recommendations, and student essay will be taken into account.
Value
Scholarships will be a $500 award. Money will be credited towards student’s 1st semester at post-secondary school of choice. Number given each year will vary.
Eligibility
• Scheduled to graduate high school this school year
• Resident of Del Rio
• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• All parts of the application must be submitted or student will be disqualified

3. Teacher Recommendations
Student must obtain two letters of recommendation. One from an instructor/teacher of the arts (dance, music, painting, drawing, culinary arts, etc) and one from a teacher of a core subject (English, Math, Science, etc). Each letter must be signed by the teacher and submitted in a sealed envelope.
4. Student Essay
In 300 words or less tell how the arts (dance, music, painting, drawing, culinary arts, etc) have positively influenced your life. This essay must be typed, double spaced, on a separate sheet of paper and stapled to the application.
